Adventure: Everest Basecamp Trek via Chola pass and Gokyo Lakes

Let's Travel Now

Are you keen to go to visit Everest Basecamp but up for a slightly more challenging adventure? If so, then the Everest Base Camp Trek via Gokyo Lakes is the ideal trek for you.

This 15 day trek is slightly longer than the normal Everest Basecamp trek (12 days) and will take you off the beaten track, deep into the Everest Region. You will get to experience a wide range of scenery, from rivers and forests to the beautiful tuquoise lakes of the Gokyo Valley. During this trek, you will also have the chance to learn about the history and culture of the Sherpa people, visit colourful monasteries, and tiny villages.  You will see some of the highest mountains in the world- Mt. Cho Oyu, Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Nuptse, Amadablam, Pumori from iconic view points over 5000m such as Gokyo Ri and Kalapatthar.

Be prepared for a challenge as this trek will take you across the Chola Pass, which connects Everest Base Gamp with Gokyo Lakes. This will involve a steep and slippery trek across a glacier, but is well worth it for the views at the top of the Pass.
